Going To Hell Any Minute Now
I joined Facebook. I'm pretty sure I said I would never join even if my very soul depended upon it. Fuuuuuck I'm doomed. Now I have a problem...if I invite the blog world to be my Facebook friend that means that the tiny shred of anonymity I have cultivated here is gone. I'd also hate for one or two real life people to find me on Facebook and then end up at my blog. How do I go about doing this Oh Great Readers of Mine? I need assvice please n thank you.

I have no idea as I'm still resisting the whole facebook thing too. What is it? Is it like myspace??
I did not like having my full name on Facebook so I changed it. I also am on Friendster and tribe.net and I even have a my space but I cannot stand that place.
I like Tribe best but it is a freakier group. I used to be active there but not any more.
Here is the thing, do you want Facebook to be able to connect to old friends or not, if you do you need to put your info or maiden name on it. I never wanted that.
If social networking is what you want then yes put your real info. Otherwise put sam stories as your first and last name and no pertinent info and have it be for more connection with blog people.
I was the queen of social networking sites for the last few years. Unfindable.
Well until some bozo friend of mine outted me. Now it has all gone to hell.
So, uh yeah, no advice here.
But I'll be your virtual friend!
I have a facebook but I only have a few of my blogger friends as facebook friends. I don't list my blog address on there. I had it for a long time so I just use it to keep up with all of my old high school and college buddies. For now I just keep the blogging out of it, no one IRL life really knows about my blog. Not that I say or do anything that I would care if they knew about (yet), I just like it that way.
Ok - I love me some facebook. Facebook is myspace for old people. Although, some of older girls from my daughter's baton team have "friended" me. I tell their mom's I'm keeping an eye on them.
I have a few blogger friends on facebook. Those that I have followed and have followed me for awhile. There is some loss of anonymity but, you choose who to friend and not to friend (that is the question.. HAHAHAHAH!!!)
As far as the blog on the site. I have two blogs that I keep. One for my family and friends which is rather clean and one for my anonymous life (which simply excludes my family - but still has a lot of close work friends on there.) My family-friendly blog is just an edited version of my "real" blog. So, my family-friendly blog is on my facebook page. Isn't that fun?
What I have found so weird about facebook is all these freaking highschool people that are popping up - it's like a reunion. I have three sets of friends on facebook: Mom friends (which include my blog friends), work friends and high school friends. I'm totally addicted to facebook. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the stupid status updates.
Hey, if you want to be my friend, you can email me at camcvayatgmaildotcom and I'll send you my real name. :D However, no pressure - it's not like a pampered chef party.
I have two Facebook profiles, one for my bloggy friends and one for people I know in real life. It lets me keep the two parts of my life nice and separate. :)
You're screwed.
I used to have a link to my blog on my facebook, because I don't really care. But then I took it down because some family found my facebook.
Truth is, I don't really facebook. I have it. But I don't do anything with it except reconnect with people. Which is nice. But it's not like I spend anytime poking people or updating my status.

my blog i pretty anonymous. i've told a few people about it, but keep it incognito so that weirdos can't find me and my chilluns. i also have a photo site that keeps my family updated on life as we know it where we are not anonymous. then, there's facebook where i do not link to the other 2 sites. i'm not anonymous there and keep it to connect to old friends and new.
I can't guarantee that someone you might know wouldn't see you on my facebook friends, so I would recommend simply not mentioning you have a blog at all.
It's easy to say that I guess considering I don't care at all if anyone knows I have a blog.
Ugh, I was with you and got dragged into the world of facebook. And now here I am. I keep bloggy life and facebook life COMPLETELY seperate with one exception - but it's someone that I would be friends with outside of blogland so it's okay :)
I compartmentalize everything anyway though, so it makes sense for me to keep facebook facebook and keep blogsville blogsville.
You can customize Facebook so that people in a certain group can only access certain information and so on and so forth, but it's a bit hard to navigate. I have to fuck around on Facebook for a half hour before I figure it out. I think the two different profiles would be your best bet, really. Then you could even friend yourself!
Only tell certain Bloggers about your Facebook account if you can trust them to keep your identity secret here.
i am slowly letting go of my last shred of anonymity. i have a facebook, myspace and several blogs. and a big mouth.
so in short, i'm SOL. :)
oh well.
