Calling It Quits
On June 5, 2005 I quit smoking cigarettes and I am still clean three years later, bitches!

My name is Sam. I jam out with my clam out. Every day. Even the days when the clam is unshaven or just plain funky. There is no life without the clam.

Good on you, Sam. Such a huge achievement! People don't realise how hard it is.
Good for you! I quit when I found out I was pregnant, and I only hope that I don't go back to it after the baby is born. I still crave them sometimes. Do you ever want one? I'm just wondering b/c I have heard from people who have quit that they never stop craving them.
And yet, you are still smokin'.
Cool!
Best wishes for everyone trying to quit.
Glad to hear it! I'm on my 4th month cig free.
Yay Congrats! I quit in May - 8 years ago - I don't ever crave them now. Not ever. Actually, just the smell of them sort of makes me feel icky.
Hells yeah! Congratulations on a truly stellar accomplishment. It's been 6.5 months since I quit cold turkey, and I'm still going strong.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
WEEHOOO!!!
And HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
That is worth a celebration! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
That's awesome! I quit smoking years ago and it SUCKED (no pun intended). ;)
Congrats! I quit in April '02, and it was TOUGH. But I'm so glad I did. :)
yay sam!!! i am coming up on my one year anniversary, myself! you are giving me hope. congratulations!!
to answer your question, cassie -- yes, you will probably crave them for a long time. but i find that the cravings are farther apart the longer i don't smoke. also, i'm getting to the point where i REALLY HATE the smell, so i'm thinking that my cravings will soon disappear entirely.
but yes, every once in a while, i'm like, "damn, that looks good."
keep it up. you will be SO proud of yourself if you quit. it's SO much harder than quitting drinking. at least, for me it was.
