I need to get out of the house. Instead, I will take pictures of my cat drinking and let all of you live in the hell that is my life.
Dude does not care for standing water. It must be running or freshly flushed. Yes, I know. Ew. If he suspects that you are headed to the bathroom, he will hop up on the counter and wait, semi-patiently until you turn it on for him. He's kind of an asshole.

My (19 year old) cat does the same thing. He waits for you to turn it on and if you don't he yowls at you - he's 100% deaf so it is a very loud yowl. He also likes to join you in the shower and I've caught him in Twister Game-like contortions drinking out of the toilet. A glass of any kind of liquid left unattended is dumped. I call him the fastest paw in the west.
You kitty is cool. Duuuuude.
why DO cats do that??? it's so weird. maybe their inner-mother-nature-instincts tell them that running water = fresher water?
that's my theory, anyway.
if it helps, i think this is why my dogs ALWAYS drink water right after i fill up their bowl and why they lick my shower doors when i'm taking a shower.
weird.
