Chicken's First Recital
Chicken has been taking piano lessons since October, and today he had his first formal recital. Yes, this is totally a proud mommy moment. Many thanks to H3.2 for adding coolness to the video. (And yeah, I missed the first few notes. Dammit.)

Notice Chicken's awesome first suit? He's worn tuxedos before but never a suit. So handsome. Oh, and during the solo? Notice the absence of music in front of him? Memorized the piece, which he had never played in front of an audience. There were 20 children plus all their guests watching him play. He ROCKED da house.

Wow! Chicken's good! He seemed to be genuinely happy about his performance afterward, too. Well done.
I had a proud parent moment today, myself. My oldest son, BionicleBoy, was in a Shakespeare Theater for Kids type of thing, and today was their performance. And he was fantastical! A true natural. I'll blog about it later.
But this isn't about me and my boy. It's about you and yours. Great job to Chicken, and I can see why you are so proud of him.
Awesome! My oldest wants to take piano. I had her watch it. She takes dance, and will be in a recital at the end of the month, I'll blog about it of course! :)
How did you get YouTube to accept such a long video? I have a couple that I can't get to upload.
That was awesome!!! I loved how he turned and looked at you at the end of the first piece. So sweet! And, not a single missed note! (I can't tell you how many notes I missed in my many years of solos. Blah!)

Sam, as someone who played violin at Chicken's age, i can tell you that there is SO MUCH work put into doing that, let alone memorizing it and doing it in front of a dead silent audience. his hard work is obvious. you should be proud. :)
