Food Obsession
I obsess over food. Not in your usual American eating way too much of everything and getting really fat way. I obsess over particular foods for a period of time. For instance, I have a recurring obsession for Thai food. Specifically Thai Iced Tea and Mango with Sticky Rice. The main course varies. I will crave Thai food for a couple of months. Which means that by the end of month two, everyone I know (including my poor child) stops asking me what I want to eat. I mention going out to eat, and everyone groans and gets busy doing something else. My current obsession is The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf's Belgian Chocolate Latte. Oh my GOD! I have one every day. I've obsessed over fruit smoothies, french fries, barbecue ribs, Cream of Rice, pudding, you name it. I'm convinced that whatever I'm craving has some vitamin or nutrient that my body needs. All my friends are convinced that I'm insane.

I obsess over anything salty and fried. Yummy.
Hey, you link to me, have you ever posted at my blog?
I'm a newb in the blogging world, so I haven't posted anything anywhere yet! I stumbled upon your blog and I've really enjoyed what I've read so far.. I figured I would link to you so others could appreciate your stuff. Cute brown dress btw! (June 10th post)
LOL! I thought I was the only one that went on tangents like this! My current one is Lay's Dill Pickle potato chips! Sometimes you can find them in the stores. Most of the time you can't. So last time I found them I bought ten canisters! By the time I run out maybe the tangent will be over!
I think I'm almost over my current obsession, it's getting hot here in San Diego and I don't like hot drinks during hot weather. My son just reminded me of the Coke Slurpee and Vanilla Crisp Power Bar phase I went through. I had my local 7-11 owner triple his Vanilla Crisp Power Bar order for me last summer because I went through them so quickly!
Hey came in from Southern Domestic Goddess and started reading. Love your style and I'll def. be back, but I wanted to tell you that I completely agree with you on the "what you're craving, your body needs theory" unless its glass or nails or gravel. Then you just are sort of crazy ;-)
Example? I dislike chocolate intensely, but if I'm not getting nookie I actually will seek it out. Turns out there's a chemical in chocolate (specifically in dark chocolate) nearly identical to the endorphins (or something - one of those chemical things) released during sex. Just sayin'.
